Glittering peridot green and warm, rustic copper make a gorgeous combination.
These earrings feature faceted, firepolished Czech glass in peridot green, wire-wrapped and topped with a leafy bead cap, and paired with antiqued-copper coloured leaves. Above them, decorating the ear wires, are antiqued-copper coloured beads framing another peridot green glass bead.
The arched ear-wires give these earrings a sinuous, Art Nouveau feel, complementing the elegant sparkle of the Czech glass, while the aged copper supplies an earthy, organic look. I can't help but be reminded of J.R.R. Tolkien's magnificent Elves in 'The Lord Of The Rings'.
Czech glass is famous worldwide for its high quality. Firepolishing is a technique whereby the beads are 'polished' by subjecting them to a very hot flame, creating a bright, shiny surface. Firepolished glass sparkles almost like crystal.
The 'Green Forest' earrings measure 48mm from top to bottom. The little leaves are 18mm long and 10mm wide. The ear wires are without nickel, so most sensitive ears should be fine wearing these earrings.
The beads have been simply slid onto the ear wires, so it is recommended that you keep the ear wires closed so that the beads do not slip off and get lost. Keeping the earrings hanging, rather than jumbled up in a jewellery box, will help to ensure that the ear wires do not get opened or bent by other jewellery pieces pushing against them.
